Connecting People and Opportunities
Rooted in Fulton County
I grew up near the Metamora area, where my family’s roots run deep. My parents operated an insurance business, "Lumbrezer Malone Insurance", in Metamora, and I spent much of my childhood around my Grandma and Grandpa Lumbrezer’s farm.
That farm helped shape my respect for hard work, land, family, and rural community life.
Today, my wife, Tanya, and I live in Lyons. We have been married for 30 years and are proud parents of five children: Landon, Kaleb, Riley, Jordan, and Walker. Our family are members at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where faith and service continue to be important parts of our lives.
Local Government Experience
Before being appointed Fulton County Commissioner, I served over 24 years as a Royalton Township Trustee. In that role, I worked on the everyday issues residents count on, including roads, drainage, cemeteries, budgets, equipment, fire protection, EMS service, and long-term planning.
My public service began at the Fulton County Engineer's Office, where I worked from 1995 to 1999. That experience gave me a strong understanding of how county and township government work together to serve residents.
Agriculture and Responsible Growth
Agriculture is personal to me. I remain an owner of family farm ground and understand the pressures farming families face, including drainage issues, development pressure, rising costs, and preserving land for future generations.
Through my time on the Fulton County Planning Commission, I have supported responsible land use planning and efforts to protect Fulton County’s agricultural character.
Like many families, ours has faced difficult decisions about our land. When we were offered a $125,000 per acre option to sell property connected to a proposed Richfield Township data center project, we chose not to. I understand these decisions are personal, and I believe property owners deserve honest information, respect, and local leaders who listen.
Business and Community Leadership
Outside of public service, I serve as Senior Principal and Survey Manager at DGL Consulting Engineers. Over the years, I have helped grow the company’s survey department from 2 employees to 23 employees across offices in Ohio and Indiana.
That experience has given me practical knowledge in leadership, budgets, staffing, planning, land use, infrastructure, drainage, and problem-solving.
I have also served through the Fulton County Planning Commission, Fulton County Economic Development, the Ohio Township Association Board of Directors, the Fulton County Land Reutilization Committee, OPWC, the Fulton County Revolving Loan Fund, youth programs, church activities, the Lyons Chicken BBQ, and the Fulton County Fair.
Why I’m Running
Fulton County is facing important decisions about economic development, agriculture, public safety, EMS service, infrastructure, housing, and responsible growth.
I am running because I believe in service, responsible spending, open communication, and protecting the values that make Fulton County a good place to live, work, farm, and raise a family.
I respectfully ask for your vote this November so I can continue serving the people of Fulton County as County Commissioner.

His vision is simple: keep county government practical, responsible, and focused on the everyday issues that matter to residents.
That means listening to the people, communicating clearly, respecting taxpayer dollars, supporting agriculture, protecting public safety, and planning carefully for the future.
R.J. understands that Fulton County needs steady leadership, common sense, and people willing to do the work.
R.J.’s Priorities
Communication
Residents deserve clear information from county government. R.J. believes in listening, answering questions, and making sure people understand the decisions being made on their behalf.
Fiscal Responsibility
Taxpayer dollars should be handled carefully. R.J. brings years of experience managing township budgets, securing grants, planning projects, and making practical decisions with limited resources.
Transparency
Government works best when people can trust the process. R.J. supports open, accountable decision-making and believes residents should have access to clear information about county business.
Agriculture and Rural Communities
Fulton County’s farmland, drainage, and rural way of life matter. R.J. understands the pressures facing farming families and believes growth should be responsible, thoughtful, and respectful of the county’s agricultural roots.
Infrastructure
Roads, drainage, bridges, buildings, and public services affect residents every day. R.J.’s background in township government, county engineering, surveying, and planning gives him hands-on knowledge of these issues.
Public Safety and EMS
Every part of Fulton County deserves reliable emergency services. R.J. believes in working with townships, villages, fire departments, EMS providers, and county leaders to address public safety needs responsibly.
R.J. is running to continue serving Fulton County with practical leadership, responsible spending, open communication, and respect for the values that make this county home.
