Why I’m Running

When I was appointed as Fulton County Commissioner, I accepted the responsibility knowing there was work to do.

Fulton County has been home my entire life. I grew up near Metamora and spent much of my childhood at Grandma and Grandpa's farm. Those experiences taught me the value of hard work, keeping your word, and taking care of what has been entrusted to you.

For over 24 years, I served as a Royalton Township Trustee. Earlier in my career, I worked in the Fulton County Engineer's Office and have spent much of my professional life in surveying, planning, land use, and economic development.

Along the way, I have worked with townships, villages, The City of Wauseon, county government, farmers, businesses, emergency services, and many local organizations.

When the opportunity came to serve as Commissioner, it felt like the next step in continuing that work.

County government is responsible for many of the services people depend on every day. Roads, drainage, buildings, budgets, public safety, planning, and economic development may not always make headlines, but they have a direct impact on every resident of Fulton County.

Agriculture has always been an important part of my life. My family still owns farmland, and I understand the decisions many farm families face. We were offered $125,000 per acre option for land associated with a proposed data center project in Richfield Township, and we decided not to sell. Every family has to make those decisions for themselves, but that experience reinforced my belief that growth should respect our farms, our communities, and the people who call Fulton County home.

I support responsible economic development. New jobs and investment are important, but growth should fit our county and strengthen our communities while protecting the things that make Fulton County a great place to live.

As Commissioner, I want to continue being accessible, making informed decisions, listening to residents, and working with local leaders to solve problems. My goal has always been to serve the people of Fulton County with honesty, common sense, and respect.

It has been an honor to serve as your Commissioner. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue earning your trust and your vote this November.
